- Have the best combination of 5 cards at the end
This is range of the the cards. The highest card first:

Full House ("three of a kind + a pair)

(In case two or more players have a full house wins the full house with the higher "three cards of a kind" in the full house. In case two players have the same "three of a kind" in their "full house" wins the higher pair of the full house")

If several players have two pair, wins the one who has the highest pair. If several players have the same highest pair, wins the player with the second highest pair.
One Pair

If several players have the highest pair, the player with the best other hole card (Kicker) wins. If the "Kicker" cards of both players are lower than 4 other cards on the table, then there is a"split pot"
No card combination

If nobody has made a card combination, wins the player with the highest ONE card. If several players have the highest one card, wins the player with the second highest card. And so on.
If several players do have the same 5 best cards, they share the pot with each other (split pot).
One complete round of texas hold'em takes on average ca. 1 - 3 minutes.
Each round, every player gets dealt two random cards of the 52 cards that a poker deck has.
When you want to play a poker game, you first have to choose the table you want to play at. There are higher playing limits and low. When you start playing, you should start in low limits like for example: "0.05/0.10" . At this table you can play with max. $10.
"0.05/0.10" describes the "blinds" of this limit. Blinds are a must fee to the pot that 2 players at your table have to pay each round. (The "pot" is the money that the players can win in each betting round).
The two Blinds are always 0.5% (small blind) and 1% (big blind) of the maximum money that a player is allowed to bring to the table in the limit he's playing.
One
Player always has the "Dealer Button". This button mooves one position
to the next player on the left on the table after every round. The
player to the left of the dealer always has to pay the "small blind",
and the player to the left of the small blind, has to pay the big blind.
A game consists of max. 4 betting rounds:
"Pre-Flop"
"Post-Flop"
"Turn"
"River"
Pre-Flop
raise (betting money into the pot)
call (pay the required amount to stay in the game)
fold (does not participate until two new cards are dealt)
After the first player acted, the player to the left of the first player has to act. After the second player has the player to the left of the second player to act and so on. The action goes around the table in the left direction until everybody has folded or paid the same amount of money to the pot. Then this betting round is over.
As long as nobody has raised in the first betting round "Pre-Flop" people need pay the Big Blind by call to enter the game. Every player can of course also fold directly and does not pay any money to the pot then.
As soon as someone raised, the other people who want to stay in the game, need to pay at least the same amount of money into the pot like the person who raised last. If they don't like to stay in the game by call or raise, they can fold at any time.
If everybody folded, the person who raised last wins the pot.
Post-Flop
Now there first come three comuity cards on the table called "Flop". These three cards can be seen by everyone and and belong to everyone. You can combine your two hole cards with the comunity cards.
Now there is a betting round again called "Post-Flop". The betting round works the same way like the first ("Pre-Flop"). (The Dealer Button stays at the same player, where it was in the first betting round). The only two differences are:
- This time, not the player to the left of the Big Blind acts first, instead the player to the left of the Dealer Button (who paid the small blind Pre-Flop) acts first.
- If nobody raised before in this betting round, the player can check, what means that hedoes not pay money in the pot but stays in the game. When a player checked, is just the next player to act.
If everybody checked, this betting round is over too and all players stay in the game.
Turn
In this betting round does only one new card appear that all players can combine with the cards on the Flop and their own two hole cards.
For this betting round there now are 4 cards on the table and the two cards the player has in his hand.
The "Turn" betting round is excactly like the "Flop" betting round before.
River
All players can raise, call, fold and check like on the Flop and Turn.
When this betting round is over, the complete poker round is over.
If at the end of this betting round are still two or more players in the the game (since they did not fold in any betting round), there is the showdown. That means the players show their hands and compare who has the best one. The player with the best hand combination of 5 cards wins the complete pot then.
The showdown: The player of the remaing players who had to act first also has to show first his hand. If the next player behind the first can beat his card combination, he shows his hand too. If he cannot beat the hand, he does not need to show. The player in last position has to show last. If he can beat all seen hand combinations, he shows his hand. If not, he does not need to show it.
